The latest Tannoy Dual Concentric™ driver has at the heart of the iw62 TDC. Intensive research and development has refined this proven technology that builds upon the legendary performance of this exclusive Tannoy driver design. Given that all sound emanates from a single point in space, the high frequency unit of the Dual, centrally mounted in the throat of the main 165mm (6 1/2”) mid/bass driver, is so positioned as to acoustically replicate this single point source; delivering an open and natural sound with a very wide image ‘sweet spot’. An additional acoustically matched 165mm (6 1/2”) bass driver delivers low frequency reinforcement, while a Tannoy Supertweeter™ to extend the frequency bandwidth out to over 50kHz. Gold plated spring loaded bi-wired terminals are provided for ease of installation, with further acoustic optimization provided by a driver earthing fifth terminal design to minimise RF interference. A unique six way clamp mechanism (paten applied for) optimises. The design also allows for simple removal or reorientation of the loudspeaker. The acoustic seal with a high integrity bond to the wall surface without risk of distortion to the loudspeaker baffle. Designed for ease of use, the mechanism allows for simple removal and reorientation of the loudspeaker. The iw62 TDC loudspeaker is ideal for installation into standard stud partition wall systems constructed with 4” by 2” (102mm by 51mm) timber at 16” (406mm) centres. They may also be used in cavity wall installations constructed with standard thickness drywall. These are guidelines and therefore do not prevent the use of the Tannoy in-wall products in different locations and a wide range of other wall construction types as long as they have a secure clamping surface up to a maximum thickness of 1” (25.4mm).
